Equine Assisted Learning/Wellness
Looking for a little help, in a non-judgemental, peaceful, safe environment? Maybe I can help you.
I hold a Foundation Certificate in Equine-Assisted Wellness Practice from AP University, College of Behavioural Health & Psychological Practice (Mar 2026). I also hold a Strides to Success Introduction to Equine Assisted Learning and Therapy Course Completion Certificate (2022). My Equine Assisted Learning/Wellness sessions are ground-based — no riding — and draw on the science of the horse-human connection to support stress management, clarity, mindfulness, and personal growth, including life skills. My horses offer presence, feedback, awareness and a unique somatic experience. EAL/W is a wellness service, not a substitute for clinical mental health care.
What does an Equine Assisted Learning/Wellness session involve?
Equine Assisted Learning/Wellness sessions are on a one-on-one basis. Each session involves horse interaction guided and supported by the professional. Although there may be a lesson plan, the session will often follow the horse’s lead. Often the activities are based on problem solving, communication, emotional regulation, relationship building and/or observation. EAL/W activities will teach the participants different horsemanship skills and life skills as they work towards their individual goals and aim to overcome personal challenges. Lessons are always working with the horse on the ground, with an emphasis on the horse as a partner, and not a tool.
No horse experience necessary! No helmet or riding attire necessary! Bring your outdoor footwear, and some gloves, if possible.
